TAPROOM SERVER

Status: Part time, 20-30 hours/week. Summary: Our ideal candidate will be an energetic, friendly, motivated, outgoing and hardworking individual who likes to takes initiative. Flexibility in schedule is required. Proficient computer skills are a must. Our ideal candidate will:

Job Description:
- Serve Pitt Street Brewing Company craft beers in the Taproom
- Be able to answer questions and make recommendations regarding our beer selection
- Sell Pitt Street Brewing Company merchandise
- Be knowledgeable about Pitt Street Brewing Company’s beer and brewing process to share with customers
- Record drink orders accurately and immediately into the Point of Sale system.
- Serve guests in accordance with Responsible Alcohol Service
- Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change, if applicable
- Clean bar area & wash and sterilize glassware
- Clear and reset tables in Taproom
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including: counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas, etc.
- Perform the restocking and replenishment of inventory and supplies
- Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to Taproom Manager.
- Be familiar with Pitt Street Brewing Company promotions, sales, and assist with special events and festivals
- Complete opening and closing duties as outlined by Taproom manager
- Demonstrate the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
Qualifications:
- Meet the minimum North Carolina age requirement to serve alcohol
- Possess a valid State of North Carolina approved server training certification and/or be willing to successfully complete training provided by Pitt Street Brewing Company
- Strong knowledge of tasting room operations and service procedures
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Possess basic math skills, possess the ability to handle money and operate a cash register
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) and climb up and down steps, bend, lift and twist up to 25lbs
- Punctual and regular, reliable attendance
- Honesty and Integrity
- Basic computer skills and knowledge
- Experience with an iPad and/or POS system is a plus
- Ability to work quickly, problem solve and think on your feet while maintaining poise in a fast-paced environment
- Positive, infectious attitude and sense of humor
- Personable, kind, and customer service oriented
- Passion for the service industry, desire to be part of a team and work hard, high level of self-awareness and long-term view of success
- Well-versed in: beer history, brewing techniques, preparation techniques, styles, flavor profiles or possess a willingness to learn
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Industry experience, as a server is preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
